Job Description

Legal and General's Group HR Risk and Governance Team are looking to hire a new Data Protection Consultant to work closely with the team in the delivery and maintenance of a compliant and robust data protection operating model.
\n
\nThe role would see you responsible for supporting the business on their strategy and compliance in regards to employee data through ensuring the data privacy and protection policies and operating standards are understood and implemented across Group HR while combining your knowledge of both policy and local processing to support change, maintain governance, provide performance measure and support learning.

What you'll be doing:
  • Consulting on required policy updates and changes via the Group Data Protection Officer where required change is identified
  • Acting as the subject matter expert and consulting on areas such as business processing and systems, content and application of the data governance framework and associated policies
  • Providing guidance on Group Data Privacy and Protection Policies and Operating Standards prepared by the Group DPO
  • Representing Group HR leadership/staff to the Group DPO to facilitate two-way communication around data protection policy compliance and work closely with Senior Management to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Working with IT Security when appropriate to guide data governance activity, supporting internal communications across the business
  • Owning the data breach reporting process including conducting root cause analysis on all breaches and mitigated actions are identified and completed.
  • Working with teams to reduce breaches through education and training as well as ensuring compliance with mandated processes and governance frameworks
  • Taking accountability for sign off of framework artefacts alongside the data owner and sponsor for BAU processes and projects, including: RPA, DPIA, Data Asset Inventory and LIAs


Qualifications

Who we're looking for:
  • GDPR Foundation and Practitioner Accreditation is desirable
  • An excellent understanding of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of businesses common breach policies and processes
  • Demonstrated experience of acting as the SME for data protection policy and processes
  • Experience of owning DPIA, LIA and SAR frameworks
