About the Role

The English Language Teaching (ELT) Division is a global leader in the provision of multimedia English language teaching, learning and assessment materials. Operating globally, it reaches millions of teachers and students each year to support the development of English language proficiency.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a unique opportunity to work with both digital and print products across primary, secondary and adult sectors, providing a variety of work and cross-functional collaboration. This role sits within a supportive, collaborative team in Publishing & Content Operations with a flexible attitude to working.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Plan, schedule, and manage Content Production stages of multi-component projects, ensuring timely delivery of products within the agreed scope and cost
  • Select, brief and oversee the work of external suppliers according to the requirements of the project
  • Supply forecasts for allocated projects, and manage allocated budget for external supplier, communicating any over/underspend to senior editorial colleagues
  • Prepare print and digital content for detailed check of styling, copy-editing and proofreading, and briefing and checking of digital assets
  • Maintain communications within the cross-functional team and appropriate colleagues
  • Train and mentor Production Editors and other editorial colleagues on systems, processes, workflows and tools, to ensure effective performance
  • Identify continuous improvement and innovation opportunities and work with colleagues to ensure that best practice, new processes, workflows, systems and lessons learned are implemented effectively.

Please note this is a FTC: Start July 2024 (12 Months contract)

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office

About You

You'll be collaborative team player with the ability to communicate with different people throughout the business. To be successful you'll also have:

Essential:
  • Productional editorial experience in a publishing environment, including experience of copy-editing, proofreading and editing digital components
  • Project management experience, with the ability to priories conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable:
  • Experience of budget management
  • Experience of commissioning and managing the work of external suppliers
  • Experience and/or comfortable with training/mentoring others
  • Interest or background in ELT publishing.
