Anonymised Application – in keeping with Camden’s commitment to inclusion the recruitment to this role is anonymised and supports the objective of reducing the impact of unconscious bias.

About us

Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. Because, we’re not just home to UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

The role

This role is being offered as a part time (18 hours) job share working over 3 days. This is an opportunity to be part of a thriving and dynamic service within the Family Intervention teams, working together across the integrated service including MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub). You will work with social networks, families, or communities, as well as individuals, and help to develop supportive relationships. You will take a strategic and operational lead and be required to work in collaboration with other social work teams within the service and with Partners such as Police, Health, and Education.

You will undertake a broad range of work with children in need, children on a child protection plan, and their families, by working with them to give additional support and ensure that your assessments, plans, and creative interventions are effective in promoting positive outcomes for Children in Need and Children on a Child Protection Plan.

You will have the opportunity to work with the proven ‘Camden Model of Social Work’, which Ofsted described as ‘a learning culture, well supported by the use of a systemic model of practice’. You will develop under what Ofsted rated ‘outstanding leadership and management’ where ‘the leadership team have formed a dynamic, professionally fertile environment for Social Workers at all levels of experience to engage with children and families”.

We take pride in getting it right first time and you will receive the training and support you deserve to help you deliver for this already first-rate service from day one. If you have the commitment, drive, and ability to deliver high service standards across the borough, then you are the person we are looking for.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you

You will be a versatile, agile, and experienced relevant Practitioner with a Practice Education Qualification or Management Experience, with substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children and families in a multi-cultural, inner-city community.

This role requires Social Work England registration.

You will possess sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and other legislation governing work with children and families and have the ability to lead, motivate staff and drive performance.
